De IJssel Coatings BV and Radiair Totaalinstallatie BV are taking a big step in making the factory in Moordrecht more sustainable.

Today we awarded a contract worth €0.5 million to Falko Ruijl of Radiair Totaalinstallatie for the renewal of our heating systems in the production and PGS warehouses. In addition to various product developments, we aim to fulfill our mission, "As a family business SUSTAINABLE to all our relations through our specialized knowledge in the field of (gel) coatings and color pastes," also in the production environment. Not only are we renewing the heating units, but we are also going to recover heat from the extracted air, thus saving considerable energy without compromising the working comfort of our colleagues.

Together with Radiair BV, we are replacing the 14-year-old gas-fired heating units on our roof. Two of these installations will be completely gasless and equipped with a MARK Airstream high-efficiency heat recovery unit (WTW) and DX heat pumps. For the third unit, upstairs in the production department, we chose a WTW unit combined with an economical gas-fired HR-G heating module. Because of the large amount of air introduced and extracted in production, we chose this proven technology.

Using these new heating technologies and HR-G units, we aim to reduce current gas consumption by as much as 80%, while ensuring that annual power consumption (including heating) will not increase significantly. We have implemented advanced control systems and energy-efficient fans in these units to ensure this. We see this investment as a penultimate step toward completely gas-free production and a commitment to energy-neutral operations in the medium term.

We look forward to the installation and further cooperation with Radiair next fall. We wish Falko and his team every success with the implementation of the project.
